Thank You

Thank You!

I don’t have much to say today but this was on my heart.

Pastor Schaller spoke in a recent Sunday night service something about living with our missionaries on the field. It was a figurative statement, and not his main point, but nonetheless, I appreciated it so much and wanted to thank those of you who are living with us on this mission field. You may not be here in person, but we feel your presence. You’re in every conversation we have, every church service, every cup of coffee, every lump of sima shared in the home of a precious church member. Your power is out when ours is out; you’re in the seat next to us on the mini bus. Your compassions and sympathies are ours, your strength is ours, your prayers are ours, and your faith is ours. We need you with us as much as you need us with you, and somehow I think God likes it that way.

We know we are loved today and prayed for. Thank you for living with us in the way.

  1. Dear Lisa & Matt,

We are truly sharing the fellowship of the Spirit with you. We think of and pray for you constantly.

This week, in particular, we have had the rare privilege of knowing what a blessing it is to have running water. On Monday evening our pipes froze and we have been without water (or drainage–yuck) since then. Today is Friday. We have had several plumbers come and go, and yesterday the water was on for a few minutes running through the new pipes, but because they were NOT wrapped with heat tape & insulation, they refroze in 90 minutes. (We couldn’t keep the water running just to keep the flow because the drains are frozen. ) Still no drainage. Tonight, we check into a hotel.

In Christ, we always have resources beyond the natural and this is what keeps us going by faith in times of adversity. We may not enjoy running water, but we have something better! LIVING WATER!

…for the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will guide them to springs of the water of life; and God will wipe every tear from their eyes.” ~Revelation 7:17

    We love you so much!
